While my passion is creative writing,

Works in progress

Fiction

When the baby of a troubled couple—a man seeking revenge for the atrocities of his father’s generation and a woman also feeling unduly victimized by past events—enters the world during a natural disaster, her Bushman nanny sees this as a sign of dark things to come and calls on the Spirits for help.

Non-fiction

A behavior change model helps writers understand the internal and external influences that shape the way people experience their worlds. This insight into the process of change helps them convey sensory details related to the thoughts, interactions, and behaviors of their story characters.

Statement

I believe “longing for home” is a condition that has impacted people from all over the world at various times and for distinct reasons in the course of history. Those are the stories I want to write—exploring the universal themes that drive idiosyncratic behaviors as my characters traverse their inner and outer worlds, all the time striving to discover who they really are.

People are the sum total of their cultural heritage, the experiences that shape their minds, the values that guide their actions, and the spiritual
beliefs that keep them wondering about it all.
The fabric of our lives is woven from threads both mythical and real. Paths you tread are unique, yet they’re archetypal of the journeys charted by your ancestors. Over time, you gather fortune and sorrow; you accumulate wisdom, intuitively following or leading. Sometimes you’re offered shelter or guided by angels; other times your world is lashed by storms or attacked by monsters. As lands rush by and life goes on, you weave strands of change across filaments of continuity, until your true destination is finally revealed—and you understand who you are.
